Individual Coaching

Our internationally experienced coaches help leaders to identify their key strengths and explore ways to apply these effectively in an international context. The program improves the candidate’s performance, motivation, and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the business. Our strongly pragmatic systemic approach is based on a clear understanding of our clients’ business needs.

Coaching often commences with the use of our 360 Feedback tool. This gives a good starting point and helps the coachee to establish SMART goals for the coaching and beyond. We are believers in the adage ‘what can’t be measured isn’t valued’ so we work hard to ensure that concrete objectives for behavioural change are established early in the coaching relationship. The second step is psychometric testing, at THE BRIDGE we work with the “Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument”, “Myers-Briggs Type Indicator”, “Dominance, Inducement, Submission, and Compliance” behaviour assessment tool Emotional Intelligence and StrengthsFinder as tools to increase self-awareness and to give the coachee a stronger vocabulary to talk about their behaviours and to identify their strengths and development areas. We have taken some of the basic principles of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and applied them to our coaching model. Our coaching approach is very effective in defining concrete actions and also in tracking and monitoring progress throughout the coaching process.

Executive coaching is a strong and powerful method for the following:

  • Accelerate Personal Development
  • Accelerate Career Development
  • Country Transitioning
  • Support the emotional engagement of the workforce
  • Work through tough times

Typically a coaching relationship lasts from 2 months to one year – with regular face-to-face or telephone calls of about 1 ½ hours. Each session starts with a review of the time since the last contact. We analyse how areas could have been improved, take the key lessons learnt and apply them to likely situations over the period until the next coaching discussion. As coaching focuses on behaviour it is important for the coachee to understand how a shift might ‘look’ and how she or he will know whether or not it is working well for them. The final part of the coaching session identifies these opportunities and develops a system to measure its success and effectiveness.

It is important that any coaching relationship is based on mutual trust, respect and openness; at THE BRIDGE we have a variety of coaches to suit a variety of personalities and situations. Matching the right coach with the right coachee is one of our specialties.
